Welcome to Zahra Sheikhbahaee

I’m a postdoctoral researcher working with both Jeff Orchard and Jesse Hoey, within the NeuroCognitive Computing Lab and the Computational Health Informatics (CHIL) Lab.

My research spans the fields of robotics, probabilistic inference, free energy principle, and computational neuroscience with the goal of building embodied autonomous systems which are able to learn and deploy “decision-centric predictive understanding of the world”. Towards my research goals, I often work on reinforcement learning, inverse reinforcement learning, generative models, and deep probabilistic modelling methods.

I am funded by the Centre for Effective Alrtuism.
