Nicole wins Best New Neuromorph!

Ph.D. candidate Nicole Dumont was awarded the “Best New Neuromorph” title at the 2024 Telluride Neuromorphic Cognition Engineering Workshop.

The Telluride Neuromorphic Workshop is a three-week, project-based workshop that brings together participants from around the world to explore the application of neural cognition principles in artificial intelligence and neuromorphic technologies. This past summer, Nicole was invited to co-organize the Language and Thought topic area. She presented a talk on Vector Symbolic Architectures and contributed to projects investigating Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) in state space models and the application of neuromodulation to recurrent memory networks.

The “Best New Neuromorph” award is given to first-time attendees who most clearly represent the workshop’s collaborative spirit and innovative energy.
