Priya joins the lab for the summer

Hi, I’m Priya! I recently completed my Bachelor’s of Computer Science & AI specialization at the University of Waterloo. Funny story - I actually disliked biology since high school, no wonder I took the math route. However, didn’t know that my undergrad would make me fall in love with the brain and now I’m super excited to keep learning and figuring out how much there is still to understand about both machines and minds.

Outside of academics, I’m passionate about promoting diversity and equity for women in computer science through WiCS at Waterloo, where I previously chaired the undergraduate committee. In my free time, I love strumming new tunes on my guitar, experimenting in the kitchen, embroidering, and weightlifting. I also have an ongoing love-hate relationship with running — which explains why I’m currently training for my first full marathon in October, questioning my life choices one mile at a time, haha :)
