Welcome Nahal

Hi! I’m Nahal, and I’m a 4th-year Computational Mathematics student with a minor in Cognitive Science. Through my minor, I was introduced to the exciting field of computational neuroscience and now I can’t get enough of it!

My background is in data science and machine learning, with experience in biomedical applications like health-focused AI systems, physiological signal analysis, and interactive medical hardware. This summer, I’ll be working with Prof. Orchard and Dr. Maddy Bartlett on validating a model of action selection in the basal ganglia, and I’m super excited to get more hands-on experience with Nengo and explore how it can model biologically inspired systems!

Outside of academics, I love reading, roller skating, and getting a little too competitive over games of Catan! I’m really looking forward to learning more and contributing to the lab!
